Atha Tidwell, 69, of Double Springs died Friday, April 18, 2003, at her residence. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m., today, April 20, 2003, at Union Grove Freewill Baptist Church in the Black Pond Community with burial in Williams Cemetery. Mickey Millican and Randy Jones will officiate. Nichols Funeral Home of Haleyville will direct. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edmond Lee Tidwell; parents, Charlie and Maude Alexander; sisters, Alberta Bryant and Norma Martin; and a brother, Hardie Alexander. She is survived by a daughter, Cindy Hornsby of Jasper; step-daughter, Betty Horsley of Vider, Texas; sister, Maccell Millican of Jasper; nieces, Hazel Smith of Montgomery and Nellene Shewbart of Double Springs; nephews, Junior Bryant and Gerald Bryant, both of Jasper; and three grandchildren.
