Death of Uncle Caney Adams
Submitted by Peter J. Gossett

Mr. E.E. Adams, known to his many friends in Winston as "Uncle Caney," an aged farmer living about one mile northeast of Double Springs, quietly passed away Thursday morning [11/22/1934], after a long illness.

He will be buried at Shady Grove cemetery today (Friday). We extend sympathy to the bereaved family and relatives.

Uncle Caney was a good man, and everyone who knew him was his friend. He is survived by his widow and several children.--Winston Herald
