John William Robinson

From the Advertiser, May 14, 1958

A pioneer Winston County resident, Dr. John Robinson of Haleyville, on Sunday, May 11 observed his 47th year as a dentist. It was on May 11, 1911 that the young county man received his degree at the Birmingham Dental College. Dr. Robinson got his license in June of that year. For three years he operated his office in Double Springs, and in 1914 he moved to Haleyville where he pulled teeth, made plates, etc. for four years. Many of Dr. John's patients do not know that he was once sheriff of Winston County. He served from 1918 until 1922 when he moved back to Haleyville and resumed his dental practice. At present, Dr. Robinson is practicing dentistry with his son, Dr. Fred Robinson. Dr. and Mrs. John Robinson next year will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. They have two living children: Dr. Fred and Miss Tommie Robinson.
