Lee Cowart Is Called Home By Mother’s Death. Lee Cowart, state commissioner of immigration, was called to Houston, Ala., Saturday by the death of his mother, Mrs. Lydia A. Cowart, who died at 7 o’clock Saturday morning at the age of 80 years. Mrs. Cowart was the mother of 13 children, 12 of whom survive. Her beloved husband died last May at the age of 82 years. The Cowart home is in Winston county, 30 miles from a railroad, and Commissioner Cowart will drive out to that place from Jasper Sunday to attend the funeral, which will take place Sunday afternoon—Birmingham News.
