III. Old Business:

    1. For the Free State Barn, Amanda Booth called to volunteer her help for anything. The I-beam, or middle section, has been stabilized. Boards have been replaced, bushes cut, and additional metal and lumber will be furnished by James Glenn. Ronald and Darryal have been working on it. We still need more stabilization for the top, rafters need replacing, and the sides worked on. The archives received a $50 donation, which helped with the purchase of nails and other items.
    2. The indexing of the 1940 census is nearly complete. All that is left is the east part of Double Springs, Lynn, Arley, and Delmar.
    3. Dianne is currently working on the inventory for the archives.
    4. We have enough material for the next newsletter, due out in June.

IV. New Business:

    1. More Looney and Winston Roots books have been sold, along with more T-shirts. The archives has had many visitors lately, from as far away as Idaho and Kentucky.
    2. Dianne and Treva brought up that the society may need to order Microsoft Office. A price on Amazon is $99.99 for the 2010 home and student edition, for licensing to three different computers. After discussion, Jerry made a motion that the society purchase Microsoft Office, Joyce seconded, and the motion carried.
    3. Steve Turner will be at the June meeting for a program, and Robin Sterling will be there for the July meeting, discussing his new book.
    4. The Tucker reunion is this Saturday, May 19th at Glen Allen.
