Mellville News. Mrs. Lay, wife of James Lay, died at her home near Dora last Tuesday. The funeral took place at Bethel Wednesday afternoon at 4 o’clock conducted by Revs. Dick Crumpton, J.H. Gilliland and J.H. Harbison. She was a member of the Baptist church and lived a Christian life for the past six or seven years. She leaves a devoted husband, two children and a host of relatives and friends to mourn her death. But we feel like their loss is heaven’s gain. “Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord.” [unmarked grave]
