Mrs. Corbin, A Pioneer

Haleyville - Mrs. Nell C. Corbin, Haleyville, passed away April 24, 1980 at Burdick-West Hospital. Born Feb. 4, 1894, Mrs. Corbin was 86 years of age. Widow of the late Fletcher W. Corbin and daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Bart J. Cowart, Mrs. Corbin is survived by a sister Mrs. J. H. Hyde of Haleyville, two brothers, B. C. Cowart of Birmingham and Lacy Cowart of Tunica, Mississippi; several grandneices and nephews. Mrs. Corbin had been a very faithful member of the Haleyville First United Methodist Church since October, 1920. She was a member of the Ladies Bible class, a choir member for over thirty years, a Life Member of the Women's Society of Christian Service, and served as Sunday School Secretary for thirty-six years for which she was honored on her birthday in 1979. Services were held Saturday, april 26 at the First United Methodist Church, Haleyville. Interment at Fairview in Double Springs, Nichols Funeral Home directing.
