Oliver Basil, 77, of Double Springs, died May 12 at home. Funeral services were May 16 at Nichols Funeral Home Chapel with Rick Robbins officiating. Burial followed in Mt. Ebron Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Basil, Double Springs; daughters Jimmie Nell Cole, Haleyville, and Brenda Gilbreath, Double Springs; sisters, Dorothy Preston, Double Springs, and Mary Townsend, Ohio; four grandchildren and one great grandchild.
