: My grandfather, James Jackson PEAK, 1873-1935, was the son of Samuel Peak, 1839-1879. Samuel's brother James PEAK,1832-1915,were both privates in the First Alabama Calvary.
: Samuel and James Peak were sons of Daniel Boone PEAK, 1805-1867, who entered gov't land in area abt 1825.
: James J PEAK and Minnie BENSON PEAK had 16 children and lived around the Double Springs area for many years. James J PEAK was county commisioner of Winston Co for several years in late 1920-30's. My father was Freeman A Peak(e), 1912-1964. He moved to Phil Campbell, AL in 1935 as manager of the Yellow Front Store when he met and married my mother, Ruby Elsie WOOD. Any connections or information about the PEAK(E), BENSON, or WOOD families is appreciated. Thanks Nell Nicholson
