The caption under this picture read "First Medical Doctor to serve in Haleyville was Dr. J.C. Taylor, who practiced in Haleyville until his death in 1919. After he died, his son, Dr. John W. Taylor, took over his father's practice and worked locally for several years. Dr. and Mrs. Taylor had two children, Mrs. John I. Mitchell and John W. Taylor. He was a brother to Mrs. Walker Haley. Mrs. Irv Hilton of Haleyville is a granddaughter of the late Dr. Taylor." Thanks to Joyce Farris for the picture!
