Tribute to Memory of Robert W. Godsey
Submitted by Peter J. Gossett

On May 3rd, 1932 at 9:30 p.m. God in his wisdom saw fit to call to himself the spirit of our father, R. W. Godsey. His sixty-seven years of earthly life have been spent for the most part in Winston County where he had scores of friends and where he has been happy in doing things for others.

His life has been a blessing to those who knew him more intimately and memories of him shall ever be cherished in our hearts.

Father, we shall miss you and had it been God's will we should have wished for your to stay with us longer but we resign our hearts to Thy will and wait until we also hear Thy call. Until then, father, farewell.

Wife and children

Note by Editor:

Never was a tribute more deserved than this paid to the memory of a good man and citizen. His life was a model for anyone to follow.
