Thomas K. Gibson Obituary

From the New-Era Herald as quoted in The Mountain Eagle, February 14, 1906
Submitted by Robin Sterling

Thomas Gibson, an aged and highly respected citizen of near Arley, died at the home of his daughter in Cullman county on Jan. 25, 1906, and his remains were interred in the Mt. Hope cemetery near Arley on the 27th. He was, perhaps, the oldest citizen in the county, and he leaves a host of relatives and friends to mourn his departure. He spent last summer with his widowed daughter-in-law, Mrs. Isham Gibson in Double Springs, and while here joined the Fairview Baptist church. We extend heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved relatives and friends.

[Thomas K. Gibson, 1813 - 15 Mar 1906; Mt. Hope Cemetery at Arley]
