Tolula Palitine Seymour Obituary

From The Winston Herald, August 26, 1886
Submitted by Peter J. Gossett

Our little darling baby, Tolula Palitine Seymour, was born May the 30th., 1884 at Double Springs, Winston County, Ala., and died Aug. 12th, 1886, at the residence of T.N. Segars, near Marble Hill in Monroe County, Tenn. while on a visit to see her sick Grand mother.

Tolula was a bright little jewel and dearly beloved by her parents, and all that knew her. Her remains were entered in the grave-yard near Old Father Reed's. Elder Riddle, talked awhile at the grave and sung those solemn lines:

Hark from the tomb the doleful sound.
Mine ears attend the cry.
Ye living men come view the ground
Where you must shortly lie.

Verdy D. and Tempa J. Seymour
