July 5: Removed the Online Surname Helper. Many addresses are ten years old and no longer work. Also, there haven't been many updates the last few years, so I decided that it was out-dated.

May 13: We are inviting you and the public to attend the dedication of an historical marker to Charles Christopher Sheats on May 21st at noon at McKendree Cemetery, 2814 Highway 55, Danville, AL 35619, Contact: Frances Rowe, 256-476-0950. Senator Arthur Orr, who supported this project, will dedicate the marker that was furnished by the Alabama Tourism Department. Following the Dedication, there will be a reception, musical entertainment, and a book signing by local author Martine Bates Sharp for her book, Chris Sheats: The Man Who Would Not Secede at Sweet Annie's at Massey Town Antique Shop adjacent to the cemetery.
